Virginia Capitol Building in RichmondThe Capitol Hill Club is an action-oriented and results-focused team of people who meet once a month to let their voices be heard in regard to legislative issues that directly affect the health and well-being of the seniors of Hampton Roads. The club is dedicated to ongoing education, training, and legislative action through the building of relationships.

The club has over 350 members (as of October 2008), but we are looking for more people to join us. There is no charge to become a member and our monthly meetings are fun and informative. We had over 100 club members come with us to Richmond in January 2008 to meet our representatives and let the folks on Capitol Hill know our expectations. If you are interesting in getting involved, please call us at (757) 217-0330.

Remember, your voice can make a difference! So Get Up, Get Out, and Get Involved.

Our next scheduled meetings are:
   DePaul: November 18, 2008; December 11, 2008
   Maryview: November 11, 2008; December 19, 2008
   Mary Immaculate: November 5, 2008; December 17, 2008

Major Event: January 23, 2009 Capitol Hill Club goes to Richmond

Meet Our Capitol Hill Club Leaders

The Capitol Hill Club is an advocacy club that let’s your voice be heard by your representatives in Richmond and Washington. The club has grown from twelve members to our current roster of over 350. Here are the leaders who make these clubs fun, informative, enjoyable, and exciting.

Emilie Hauser: Chairperson, DePaul Capitol Hill Club. As a leader, Emilie says, “Being a part of an influential group who have first-hand knowledge of economics, health care, elder care, local and national government issues, and working in concert with state congressional members in Washington, DC and Richmond is very important to me.”
Norma Elaine Phillips: Chairperson, Mary Immaculate Capitol Hill Club. Ms. Phillips states that, “Being able to go to Richmond and meet the representatives and talk to them face-to-face has been a very rewarding experience.”
Betty Williams: Chairperson, Maryview Capitol Hill Club. “Being a part of a group interested in learning about issues that directly affects them, meeting new friends, and sharing common ideas is a driving force behind my involvement in the club. Persons joining the club will not be sorry!”

If you would like to join one of these action-oriented, results-focused teams, call 757-217-0330 and “let your voice be heard.”
